No time...
...to blog it properly at the moment, but I went to see Two Thousand Years at The National last night. Brilliant stuff, and if you can get returns then do go. Also, terribly excitingly, Sir Peter Hall was sitting at the end of my row, while James Cromwell (aka Farmer Hoggett from Babe) was sitting in the row behind. It was almost too much to bear...

Bloody Hell...
The Architect complained of feeling sick last night. I was reasonably sympathetic, but did rather feel that he was being maybe just a teensy bit male about it all. Anyway, he retired to bed at 8.30, leaving me to watch Extreme Makeover (yay!). This morning, he woke up feeling a lot better - but still decided not to go to work. Which means that he's under my feet today. I have stuff to do, goddammit, most of which involves concentration and therefore not wanting to hear his feckin' playstation noises in the background...

Ready, Steady, Cook...
When making chutney, which involves putting lots of fruit into a sugar syrup, do try to bear in mind that the resulting mixture is (a) very hot, (b) exceptionally sticky and (c) not recommended for dripping all over the countertop, oven gloves, clothes and hands. A jam funnel will help to prevent the above sticky carnage. Just try to recall that you own one BEFORE making a mess and burning your fingers. |
