Hi Diddly Dee, an Actor's Life for Me

In my exhaustion after the weekend I haven't managed to write about the wedding yet, so here goes at rectifying that situation. It's funny how things that you really look forward to can be such a disappointment while things that you're dreading can turn out to be fantastic. I had a great time at the wedding, despite being worried before I went that I would be a bit of a wallflower as I don't know the BF's childhood friends all that well. The evening was slightly marred by the BF's MFF (manipulative female friend) playing silly games, but despite her best efforts, she didn't get me down for long and we had a fantastic evening, dancing like mad things! I'd forgotten quite how much fun ceilidh dancing is! My friend P and I were discussing how actually it's a really great idea for a wedding reception, as it's so traditional and following on from a beautiful white church wedding it just seemed right, somehow. It's so much more sociable than a disco as it gets everyone up and holding hands and swinging each other round the room. And if nothing else you can laugh at the bride's inebriated second cousin on the end trying to keep up with Strip the Willow! There was one particular dance where everyone was in a big circle in the middle of the room - can't remember the name, unfortunately. Anyway, it was a very simple dance but because so many people were dancing it all got very chaotic and hysterical. I managed to tread on my own toes not once, but TWICE! I've got a beautifully-coloured bruise coming up as a result... I'm really glad that I was able to share the day with the bride and groom - I'm an old softie at heart, despite my usual protestations to the contrary, and I love to see happy people getting what they want most in the world. And yes, when I saw the bride looking gorgeous, I have to admit to wiping away a few tears! It really was a beautiful day and I wish R&K every happiness - congratulations, you two, for being brave and in love enough to make the leap. xxx
I love to cry at weddings...
