It never rains but it pours...

Well, having spent the last couple of months pretty much twiddling my thumbs with nowt to do, suddenly everything is happening...

The other night I went for an audition for the follow-up project to the singing nun extravaganza.  I didn't think that it had gone all that well, but I was obviously wrong, as I've just been offered the job - hurrah!

Then tomorrow  I have an audition for a gender-reversed version of The Tempest, which is one of the first Shakespeare plays that I ever read, aged about 9, which I'm very excited about - if you could think of me at about 12pm and waft some good luck vibes in the direction of Deptford it would be much appreciated ;o)

Plus I have some rather exciting interviews to transcribe for my journalist friend Simon.  So all in all, I'm going to be quite busy over the next few days - excellent stuff.

Thanks Evie - I'll find out by the end of today or tomorrow morning latest, apparently. I've no idea what they thought of me at all, but I don't think I disgraced myself, so here's hoping ;o)

*everything crossed*

Hurrah! Good Luck with everything else!

Ta ladies - just had a phone call from the company I auditioned for today and I haven't got the job. Not too upset though - the reason I didn't get it is because the actor I'd be playing opposite is only 5'7" and, as I'm 5'11", they were concerned about it looking a little silly, which I can understand!

(3.8.05 22:09)
Oh that's a bummer! Can't they make him wear heels?

(3.8.05 22:48)
I agree with Olivia.. they should conform to your fabulousness... make the man wear heels I say!

(3.8.05 22:56)
Absolutely after all they should listen to the audience, I'll come and watch the play! Honest.

(3.8.05 23:52)
Can't they get a taller actor to be opposite you.
*shakes fist at the injustice*

Let us know when the singing nun follow up is, and we'll do our best to make it this time - I promise!!!

(4.8.05 09:04)
Yes, it's a silly reason not to be cast, but it's happened before and I'm sure it'll happen again *shrugs*. It's not a big deal though - if I'd got the job it would have caused complications with the singing nun thing, as well as The Architect's Sister's wedding and potential holiday plans, so I'm honestly not too upset about this one )

brilliant, well done you. I know quite a few pro actors ( won't name drop, unless you ask me to )and they are never happier when they are working flat out!

True, becca - in fact we were having this conversation (in a slightly drunken fashion) at rehearsals this evening. The job may be hard work and physically knackering, but it's a million times better than working in an office or any of the other rubbish that we do to keep our heads above water - wouldn't want to do anything else )

and you

you read the tempest at 9! I read it at 18 and still felt the need to check the school water...

I was a bit of a precocious little shit really, Quips! I'm not sure I'd like my 9 year old self if I met her today (now there's a bizarre concept...)

(9.8.05 13:58)
I wouldn't worry. At 9 I think i acually was Caliban.
I prefer precocious to half-animal.

Another feral 9 year old. I don't think that there is another kind really.
