Lost

It's always a little worrying when the sponsorship adverts (in this case 118 118) at the start and end of the ad break are rather more entertaining than the actual programme, don't you think?

i HATE 118 118
hate hate hate
so
no

(1.9.05 11:29)
its a bit shit then?

(1.9.05 11:31)
It's certainly not great, 'Lad. I'm watching it with a masochistic sense of 'I've started so I'll finish', but I can't say I'm really enjoying it.

(1.9.05 11:34)
I was enjoying it, but then I feel asleep, not sure if it was the content of the prog, or the drugs I have taken I have a cold...
I wouldn't mind growing a 70's walrus 'tash like those 118 fellas...

(1.9.05 11:37)
G'wan. Do it, do it, do it, do it....

(1.9.05 11:49)
Oooh, at least your sponsorship ads are entertaining. The Irish equivalent for lost features four complete idiots sat around a restaurant table saying stuff like 'Jack can't make it, he's trapped on a desert island' or 'Jack says his luggage is lost now too, shall we have desert?' GRRRRR! (And I've no idea what they adverise as I get too shouty and ranty to notice)

(1.9.05 12:35)
I'm quite enjoying LOST although the level of grooming of the female characters is so ridiculous...they obviously have an army of make up artists and hairdressers wielding straigtening irons which kind of ruins the authenticity.

(1.9.05 12:39)
good grief what on earth were you watching?

(1.9.05 12:48)
I'm loving it, but that maybe a lot to with my new found obsession with Sayid/Charlie...

(1.9.05 12:50)
Sayid does make up for a lot of the programme's evils, it has to be said.

(1.9.05 14:13)
Anagram, I was supposedly watching Lost, but in actual fact watching the 118 ads and letting Lost rather wash over me...

(1.9.05 14:46)
I keep thinking I've seen the episodes before. But then I look at the lovely Kate and just forget about the plot.

(1.9.05 14:47)
Yes. Replace the word 'Kate' with the word 'Sayid' and you've pretty much got my attitude towards the show as well, Mr Frog.

(1.9.05 14:50)
Same attitude. Different target.
I can live with that but I should point out that he doesn't rock my boat at all. The pregnant girl does though.

(1.9.05 14:58)
HMHF-Again I believe there are specialist magazines to cater for this particular taste, you wrong wrong man

(1.9.05 15:01)
What! Whatisay! What!
She has a pretty face.

(1.9.05 15:18)
MrFrog-Please don't backtrack we all know what you were implying...

(1.9.05 15:42)
What that I prefer women who are fertile?

(1.9.05 16:58)
No, not potentially fertile, but actually impregnated, and not by you either...

(1.9.05 17:01)
Good point

(1.9.05 18:28)
Yup - I had it on in the background last night, but I couldn't tell you a single thing about the episode. I could happily not watch it again.

(1.9.05 19:25)
I think some sort of authenticy as far as the beards on the guys and a few of the girls sporting some hair on their legs. Do you think women in survival mode are going to shave their legs?
I am sure that they are about to run out of soap as well by now.
But I still love Lost and am so happy that the new season starts soon.
- Enigma

(2.9.05 09:36)
I think I'd shave my legs if I was stuck on a desert island with Naveen Andrews - but it's a good point, Enigma...

(2.9.05 12:57)
Sayid was my original pick of the blokes, but as time goes on, I'm feeling the Sawyer love too.
(I just want to scrub Charlie)

(2.9.05 15:28)
I've completely missed both the hype and the first goodness-knows-how-many episodes of Lost but a friend has DVD recorded the lot.
My quandary: do I watch them and possibly get sucked into a show that doesn't make any sense but is apparently completely addictive ala Twin Peaks or just pointedly ignore it and watch old repeats of ER circa Dr Ross?
I must know.

(2.9.05 16:44)
Dr Ross wins hands down in that particular quandary, Beso.
Ta for sweetie - I'm laughing at myself though, because I've just unknowingly given it straight back to you, having read your blog before checking my comments. I haven't spat on it, I promise...

Pan, Sawyer is growing on me (like a rash, yeah, I know), but I'm not sure I can actually stick out any more episodes. However, if somebody could let me know when Sayid's story is coming up that would be very kind, thankyouplease.

(2.9.05 17:24)
I really only watch lost as lots of friends watch it. But certainly in the last month or so, they've all said its gone from 'must watch TV' to 'can I be bothered TV'. I think we're roughly 10 episodes ahead of the UK, we've had Sayid's backstory and the second of Saywer, Kate and Charlies stories (oh yes, they run to seconds). Sayid's story happens about in about three episodes time in the UK I think.

(2.9.05 18:17)
Makes me wonder why I pay £100 odd for my TV licence. I feel really sorry for the blind, however, who have to pay something close to that just for "hearing" the crap.

(2.9.05 20:35)
Hmm.
Must admit I rather like Lost. I like the way it's telling a very bizarre story in a clever way that all knits together nicely....and I like the way it focuses on one character's POV at a time to tell the story.
Yeah, it's silly. Over-glamourous, for a start. And yes, I keep wishing Charlie would have a shave, for God's sake. It's driving me nuts.
As for the lovely Kate....
*sound of cold shower running*

(2.9.05 20:37)
Cooeee! Mike!

(2.9.05 21:44)
*cold shower turned up full, blasting a hole in the floor*
Yes, she's not entirely unattractive in a number of ways.
Shame about the non-matching swimsuit.
(I'm hard to please).

(2.9.05 23:01)
Well, she has just been in a plane that's crashed in the middle of nowhere, while she was in police custody. I suppose she probably wasn't thinking about the fact that by the end of the day a film crew would see her in her pants!

(3.9.05 00:10)
Or me, for that matter.
Fair point. I perhaps shouldn't be so picky. I will ask her out to dinner immediately.
*goes off for a rose and a box of survival rations*

(3.9.05 11:17)
Woo! Go Mike!

(5.9.05 18:34)
mmmm i dont mind THAT swimsuit one bit at all!
i always enjoy an entertaing commercial. but if "normal" commercials are more entertaining that the show then somethings def wrong.
