Wheeee!

We booked our holiday last night.  We're going here for a week in October (only 5 1/2 weeks away, by the way - can you tell I'm excited?), staying in the rather amusingly named Harpy Hotel.  I really can't wait...

woooo

(6.9.05 11:06)
you'll love turkey. best holiday i ever had was over nearer fethiye.

(6.9.05 11:11)
I've never been there, Quips, so I'm really looking forward to it.

(6.9.05 11:14)
you should catch the back end of the good weather as well. of course it will still be fairly scorching... must have got an incredible price for it...
doing disturbingly well in the hotornot as well...

(6.9.05 11:18)
Really? And why's that disturbing, eh? *taps foot and looks accusingly*

(6.9.05 11:22)
*backtracks*
of course its not surprising. i was just alarmed you're not doing better...
the boys are also seriously lacking... don't think that should be allowed...

(6.9.05 11:26)
Ooooh you lucky thing!
Will there be harpies screaming though? That could be a little off-putting...
(Thanks for the cheque that arrived a few days ago too, I've stashed it away safely!)

(6.9.05 11:38)
Quipsy, you are such a silver-tongued lothario ;op
Sez (oops - just typed Sex by mistake!) - I'm hoping the harpies will keep their gobs shut. I might have to blaps them in the heed if they don't... (Glad to hear the chq arrived safely - when do you start swimming?)

(6.9.05 11:44)
phew
*mops brow*

(6.9.05 12:57)
Yes, I agree, Quips, the males of the species are being left in the dust on on that scoreboard. It could very well be that the 20six women are better looking....but the site organisers admitted there was a heavy bias towards female scores and numbers of votes. It seems that guys are more likely to wander in for a quick perv (surprise surprise).....
That looks a fantastic spot to go on holiday, Floaty. Bet you are doing backflips at the thought.
Myself, I'm looking forward to November - heading off to Cyprus, hopefully seeing where I grew up.....

(6.9.05 12:59)
i suspect the 20six women are just as guilty of perving...

(6.9.05 13:24)
Is this true, ladies of 20six?
*sense of decorum affronted / monocle popped out of eye*

(6.9.05 13:24)
i found someone who looks like mark owen...in fact, i think it is:

(6.9.05 14:29)
Certainly looks like him, Sammy. A bit too little-boyish for my tastes, but a little bit of naked male flesh never really goes amiss.

(6.9.05 15:28)
That's definitely Mark Owen oh yes. Back in the days when I thought he was going to be my husband!

(6.9.05 20:04)
Start next Monday... am getting scared now!

(7.9.05 07:57)
Floaty - It looks lovely. The website you linked to says that Kalkan has 'strict codes' regarding noise, so those harpies will be forced to be quiet.

(7.9.05 10:25)
Ah, excellent news. Bloody harpies - always whingeing on. It's about time someone got them under control.

(7.9.05 10:26)
Sez - good luck! It'll be fun (haha)

(7.9.05 11:42)
Looks stunning - I've never been to Turkey but everyone I know who's been has loved it and wanted to go back. Hope the time flies until you're on that plane!

(7.9.05 12:11)
Me too, Scratch )

(7.9.05 16:03)
"We have a selection of several well chosen Kalkan accommodations....."
Be careful, Floaty.
You might not want to come back.....

(7.9.05 16:29)
wow sounds like my kind of holiday that! Send us a postcard?

(7.9.05 17:24)
Mike, if I do want to come back I shall consider the holiday a failure. I still will. Come back, that is. But I won't want to...
Anagram - sure! If I address it to anagram at 20six it'll get there, right?

(7.9.05 18:53)
Good to hear (the 'you coming back', not the 'you not wanting to'). Blogland would miss ya.

(7.9.05 19:04)
Great country, looks great place. Take Euros. It'll be bloody hot still.

(7.9.05 20:03)
That's certainly what I'm hoping BHM ) Isn't Turkey still on lira though?

(7.9.05 22:12)
Oooo eeee. Have fun! We want postcards.

(7.9.05 22:55)
think it lost the lira last year or so, which was a shame because last time i went there i was a billionaire without even being rich.

(8.9.05 10:27)
Ah!  I have found out the mystery of the money here.  Turns out it is still Lira, but they've knocked lots of zeros off the end so they're smaller.  Kinda.  I think we're probably going to get into all kinds of confusion, but that's part of the fun of going to foreign countries, right?
