Elvis Shmelvis
I've never been one of those people that raves on about Elvis and the Beatles and how great they were and how all modern music is rubbish in comparison because, quite frankly, I don't believe that. However, I was in the bar at Battersea Arts Centre last night and they were having an Elvis tribute night. And I suddenly realised that he did some great songs. Not world-changing, but toe-tapping and eminently danceable to. And he was quite beautiful, too. Not in the bloated, white disco suit phase, but earlier on, before the sex, drugs 'n' rock'n'roll lifestyle took its toll.

See?
Elvis, I raise a glass to you - of course you can be my teddy bear.

For Sammy and Greenie...
This rather lovely picture is by a photographer called Douglas Cloutier, and I have had this card stuck on my fridge for many years to cheer me up first thing in the morning...
